Great service, cozy atmosphere. Good for people watching through the large windows that look onto a main street. Nice selection of ales.

This place is very cute! They have a really small bar with only one or two bartenders who are extremely attentive and participating in the conversation. The front room had great live music when we went on Friday night. They also have lots of food & drink deals on certain days, like ‘bangers & beer’ It is definitely worth stopping in to visit if you’re in the area or passing by.

Lunch ½ chicken-very tasty. Ghost Ale made by York Brewery-undertones of chocolate & coffee-smooth!

Great Sunday dinners meat and veggie — we always hv the veggie option which is a rarity in York and dogs are as welcome as the public — but no kids yippie — for beer drinkers they have a great choice of real ales — the staff go out of there way to help and if they see you have a dog within a few minutes they bring out a bowl of water and a biscuit or two — highly recommend

Lovely beer, friendly bar staff and locals. Try out the Centurion’s Ghost if it’s on tap, sooo lovely. Then head over to York Brewery for a tour and additional samples, you won’t be disappointed.

York is filled with great, historic pubs and this is definitely one of them! We came here for lunch as it is right by the central square of York and was decorated in an intruiging way. We asked if the pub had anything to do with a history of hangings in York, as The Last Drop Inn in Edinburgh was named so because it was right by the historical hanging sight in Edinburgh, and many prisoners would have their last pint at that pub. but THIS pub in particularly has nothing to do with hangings. In fact, the platform right outside the pub used to be a church, not a hanging site. So I guess that’s kind of a relief! This place specializes in sausages, or bangers and mash, so we got that here as it was decently priced and they had really interesting varieties of sausages! They also had a good selection of really cool beers with awesome names such as Dragon Slayer, Dark Night, and First Light. It was a nice place to sit and relax, and there were a lot of elderly men sitting alone with their pints and newspapers. I think they have a no juke box policy, which makes for a great conversational/peaceful environment. I like the old-folgyness of this place, and I’m sure if I were a grumpy old man I would have felt even more at home here!

Lovely wee pub quite centrally located, and it can get quite busy some nights! They are a York Brewery pub so head here for the good stuff! Staff are always friendly but be prepared to stand as seating is a bit limited. Also their food looks and smells delicious but i have yet to try it!

Very narrow behind the bar here. I don’t know how they don’t knock things over all the time. A friendly girl working her first ever shift poured me an excellent pint of ale(a guest ale Pigs Do Fly — from the Potbelly brewery). They are owned by the York brewery, so serve their beer, but also offer guests and some interesting bottle and keg options. The food looked hearty. There was a minature Schnauzer in the pub. So darn cute!

Nice choice of York brewery ales. Good atmos. Had bangers & mash which was spot on. They do regular choice of locally made bangers too. Friendly staff. Proper grown ups pub with character. Cask beer quality is 1st class. Clearly the cellar is looked after by someone who really knows what they are doing. Perfectly served too.

A marvellous oasis of stupendously good beer. The last time I was in they had half-a-dozen really excellent real ales which were reasonably priced. They also have an excellent collection of malt whisky as well as notable bottled beers. There are no machines of any kind and the only music you will hear is live music, usually on early in the week.

The Last Drop is a small friendly pub located on Colliergate in the centre of York. It’s a York Brewery pub so you can expect to find a number of selection of quality real ales as well as your usualy wines and spirits and the last time I popped in I noticed a selection of fruit wines to which need further investigation! On a busy weekend evening, expect to stand in this pub as it is on the small side! but very atmospheric also as it’s in a listed building! and the name Last Drop in suggests some history — probably in referance to the last person hanged in York.(this is wild speculation on my part as I’m not sure if this is true or not!) The Last Drop also has live music during the week, so if you’re a fan and fancy going to a gig then this is a good place to go! It also has a good lunch time pub grub menu, but I’ve not tried the food — though I’ve seen it and it looks yummy!

this is a nice enough pub, good for a drink through the day. i also would try some of the food, you get a good protion. its also a grade 2 listed building(which means no chips??) and is just opposite a square that normally has come sort of turn on, so its good for people watching. also worth a look if you like real ale, they have stacks

This pub is one owned and run by the York Brewery so one for the CAMRA fans. we popped in here on a lunchtime had a couple of beers and I had Cheese Nachos and my partner had a ploughman’s Platter, but beware if there are two of you only order one plate to share because there was enough to feed the five thousand, loads of fresh cheeses and also a great selection of breads etc. great place but don’t plan to eat on the night because you will still be full. Enjoy.
