Stayed here for 2 nights and can’t fault my experience: The staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough to help. They assisted with carrying bags for my parents from the car to their room without any prompting. The lady on reception was extremely helpful providing a map and directions to the Minster via a scenic route on the walls. Room 23 was massive and very quirky, with a dressing room area and some unusual ornaments. There was a very large bed and had a great shower. The breakfast was fabulous: plenty of choice, something to suit everyone’s taste. My husband, travels a great deal, said it was the best breakfast he’s ever had in a hotel. The restaurant was busy and the food was of a good standard. I’d definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at this little hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was huge and we had an separate little room where to hang clothes and change. The only negative was that they really need to hoover the rafters to get rid of the cobwebs, which are to be expected especially in an old house. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The pool(heated, btw, which is really important, imo) out back was utterly delightful and the restaurant looked lovely as well with its dining tables under a covered patio — unfortunately, we didn’t have time to try it. The breakfast was very good. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the fruit was fresh and delicious and it was all served with attention and relative speed. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.
