Plume Of Feathers Inn

Without doubt, one of my favourite pubs, perfect location, food, ambiance (hate that word, but it’s true!). Great beers always on top. Somewhat devastated however that Jail Ale is no longer on tap! What’s going on!

Camping im Moor. Zwei Wiesen hinter der Bar. Wanderwege führen direkt vom Zeltplatz los. Rezeption ist in der Bar drin wirkt sehr urig. Sanitär ist auch über den Parkplatz an der Bar und sehr einfach. Angenehme Atmosphäre. Für Autos keinen Strom. Zelte sind von den Wohnmobilen etwas getrennt auf einer anderen Wiese. Die Zeltwiese kann nicht befahren werden, so dass kein Auto daneben stehen kann. Sehr ruhig. Keine Begrenzungen zwischen irgendwelchen Parzellen. Man stellt sich da hin, wo man will und Platz findet.
Gezahlt wird einfach nur per Person. In unserem Fall zwei mal 6.75£ = 13.50£

This is a great find in the middle of the wilderness of dartmoor — a great pub with real fires, and really good food. The menu is more than just your average pub Fayre. This is high quality and diverse with a dozen fish dishes, another board of specials and even snails. The sausage and mash gives you different types of sausages to choose from, all locally sourced. The double burger came with handmade colslaw, a thick slice of bacon and mature cheddar. Very nicely done indeed. The bar has The locally produced Jail Ale and a great choice of soft drinks and other beers. The pub also has a campsite and a bunk house and it is short walk to South Hessary tor for the energetic (and achieveable with children on a nice day). Overall, this is well worth a visit and family friendly.
