This pub was used by my Aunt and Uncle back in the 40’s/50’s, and I can remember going there with my parents. We hadn’t used it for ages until about five years ago when there was a family wake there. The food then was absolutely terrific, as was the attitude and service of the staff. Sadly, it was used again yesterday for the same reason and I am very happy to say that my original thoughts about the place has not changed. They were terrific! Well kept cellar, as the bitter was perfect. Excellent buffet provided at, what I’m told, a very reasonable price. Thank you.

I lived in Worthing from 1989 until 2006. I frequented this pub from 1995 until 2001. The place is warm and welcoming there is a lovely beer garden and the décor both outside and inside are beautiful. A real public house rather than a bar! Great choice of drinks and if you go regularly enough you soon become a local!

Yes yes yes! I love this pub! Its cozy, old fashioned and probably not a lot of peoples cup of tea but its full of old, down to earth people and has some really nice beers on offer. The building is beautiful and the interior is largely untouched but not tacky. This is a real public house! Not a ‘Gastro’ pub full of ponces. The food isn’t going to win any medals but its really good and prepared really well. The curry night on a Thursday is definitely worth going for. Its an ideal place to head to for lunch or with a large group but I prefer to sit on my own, in the corner reading my newspaper and enjoying my pint of Harveys.
