This place changed hands about 9 months ago and the new owners have turned a lovely corner shop into an amateurish cartoon of a fish and chips shop. Visually, the décor is an assault on the senses. The absurd blue has no business being in a restaurant. The blinking lights and sparkle are not appealing. They are consistently slow. At Friday evening rush hour they have no fish on hand and cook every order as it is ordered. This is a chip shop. I don’t value the cook-to-order as much as I value quick in-and-out. 2 small cod and chips takes a solid 10 minutes from order to exit. The only reason I still come here is because it is convenient to the train station.
