There’s a rapidly dwindling demand for pubs so I can’t comment on Kevin 27’s rating of it as a boozer. The Springhill is definitely more of a restaurant and it is the yardstick we use when choosing where to eat. Unfortunately, not much else comes close. The first time we visited we nearly left because it was no longer a Harvester. Thank goodness we gave it a try. The quality of food, service and value is outstanding. It looks a great venue for food, drink or special occasions. The Springhill has a varied menu. If you want to push the boat out dishes like dover sole or lobster can be ordered well in advance. Often the drinks are an attempt to rip diners off but not at the Springhill. We have not had a bad meal. I thoroughly recommend their Sunday lunch. The special two and three course lunch menu is superb value over the rest of the week.

This pub aspires to be a restaurant rather than a pub. It boasts of fresh fish daily and real ales. Its nice inside, but alas not cheap. Worth a visit for a meal but I would not go for a drink.
