I wish I could eat here everyday. This might be the best Indian Restaurant I have been too.

Food has always been good, reasonably priced and good service. Reading the other reviews the ‘back stage’ hygiene is clearly concerning. However, if this was not the case it would be nothing short of a 4 star rating.

Nice food served on china plates. Nice little area to relax with a drink if you need to wait for a table. Popular with theatre goers as its at the back of The Grand Theatre. Pictures of past celebs that have visited adorn the walls although they are from a very long time ago. Waiters wear bow ties. Décor a bit tacky now but still better than a lot of restaurants in the town.

I’ve always enjoyed the huge portions of reasonably priced food at the Dilshad and probably visit once every couple of months. I’m a little disappointed and surprised that they have zero stars for their Scores on the doors hygiene as the place is certainly impeccable front of house I should be concerned about that but to be honest I rely on my experience and I still like the place. Fingers crossed for better scores in the future.

Always seems clean and tidy to me, even the massive gents loo. Curry portions are huge and served on their own plate. Rice portions are best shared between two or even three. I think the food is good and there is a professional aura about the place. I have been in here a number of times and have never had a problem.

Might be worth looking on W/ton council website for scores on the doors — which shows how a place rates after a visit from the environmental health dept. The Dilshad scored NOSTARS showing a lack of knowledge on cleanliness and hygiene plus food safety! I will not visit again until this changes!

Used to be renowned as the best in the City, but went off a bit. Anyway, it’s had a refurb, and looks more modern, gone is the flock wallpaper etc., Better range of dishes than most, and service good. Mind you, we were the only ones in there on a Tuesday night. Cobra lager was nice, so I had 2 pints. It attracts the theatre crowd, so if you are lucky,(?) you might bump into the Chuckle Brothers or Marti Pellow!
