The Toby Cottage in Ripley High street is a lovely place to dine for a special occasion. Its name originated from the fact that many years ago it sold Toby Jugs before becoming an antique shop and now a restaurant. We thought the food was top quality and there was a good choice on the menu. it was well presented and coked to perfection. However it is a little pricey and certainty we could not afford top eat here very often. It has a relaxed ambience and the service is very good. The staff are friendly with excellent hospitality skills. One word of caution there is an extensive wine list but the house wine is £17.95 a bottle which in our opinion is exorbitant and pure profit making. A wine for about £12.95 would be more appropriate not everyone is a wine connoisseur and an ordinary palpable house wine should be available at an affordable price. Otherwise we can recommend eating here if your are celebrating a special birthday or wedding anniversary.
