This pub is on the canal and very busy on sunny days, unfortunately it’s not very friendly. If you walk in on quiet nights, you will see regulars and feel like you’re welcomed there. I’m sure it’s different if you just order your food and drinks and sit outside. Their food is nice and good place to take a little break from walking/boating I’m sure.

The New Inn in Send is in a nice location right beside the canal. In the warm weather there is ample outside seating but it can get crowded. insides it has the feel of a traditional English pub with wood being the main décor feature. A nice menu is available for food which is reasonably priced but on busy days the small kitchen struggles to cope. They serve cask ales. Parking can be a slight problem as it only has a small car park.

Nice beers, but I have to say that the food was only mediocre. Typical selection of food, but I recall being surprised at the price of my meh sandwich. We arrived with two small children in tow, and sadly they didn’t have any accomodations for families, neither high chairs or changing table. It seemed like a pretty friendly place, though, if you knew other people there

Decent pub by the Wey River waterway, and a popular spot for boaters. Pub was typical country style inside. We didn’t eat, merely stopped for a couple of pints as we were boating along. It’s well-suited for this, with many tables outside on the grass by the river, some under cover. Typically Stella/Carling/Fosters lagers on tap, but also some ales, Durham’s Sunstroke( ) being the interesting chioce.
