Maccombs was a big name in Wirral’s pet stores some years ago. They had a few shops I think, definitely one ion West Kirby and this one in Hoylake, Sadly this is the only one that remains and all the others have closed down, probably in light of the recession. This place is one of the only decent pet shops left on the Wirral. They cater for dogs, cats and hamsters mainly but can order aquatic stuff and specialist stuff in if you need it. They sell a range of foods, toys, beds and stuff like that. If you breed dogs or cats you can advertise in their shop if you ask nicely, but ensure that you’ve got a professional breeders certificate first off, and that all your pups or kittens have been fully wormed and vaccinated!

This pet shop on Market Street in Hoylake is fairly substantial as far as pet supply stores go.
They have a good variety of your basics for dogs and cats, and a lot more hamster and mouse items then I have generally seen in most small pet shops.
You can definitely find what you need here for Rover, Fluffy, OR Hammy, whether that be a snack, a toy, or a bed.
