Sebastian’s is something of a hidden gem in Windsor. Along the main street across from the castle, there are restaurants aplenty, including Italian(that I believe are chains, not sure since I am not British). My family and I saw a very good review and, as my kids love Italian, we wanted to check it out. The place is rather small but in a pleasant way. The décor is very enjoyable, very much like an trattoria in Italy. Everyone absolutely loved their meal. Delicious salads, pastas and pizza. In fact, later in the week during our visit we went to a different Italian place and the whole family regretted we had not gone back to Sebastian’s. We found the service excellent and attentive. They took care of us but didn’t rush us. You cannot go wrong here.

Amazing fresh pizza and salads! The pesto pasta was especially nice! Plus, if you order your pizza to go, it’s at a discounted rate. Another favorite in Windsor!

I really really wished I could give this place 5 stars altogether. Unfortunately despite a good quality and genuine Italian cuisine the service was substandard. The staff only spoke to the Italian part of the the table(in Italian). So if you’re not Italian or don’t speak the language expect a basic service. The restaurant also lacks a bit in its décor, it’s quite small and the seats in the middle don’t feel encouraging. So the 4 stars are for the food only unfortunately.

We were recently on a tour of Windsor, and before we went into the Castle, the tour group gave us lunch on our own. The Tour Guides were barraged with questions about where is the best place to eat, and they sheepishly told us about Sebastian’s. They didn’t want the whole tour group to go there, because it was their favorite place, and even they wanted to get in! It’s obviously a family business, and the food was fantastic! Get the Garlic Bread. It’s actually pizza dough with mozzerella and garlic butter. Oh so very yummy! My son had a Calzone which was about the size of his head. He loved it, and I wish I could post a photo for you to see! I ordered the Spaghetti with Bolognase meat sauce, and loved it. But I was so full from the garlic bread, that the owner was worried I didn’t like it. Believe me, I loved it. We were so full, the portion size is great! So, if you’re going on a tour of Windsor Castle, Gower Hill is a small side alley in the shopping area. You won’t regret eating there. It’s fantastic!

Amazing pizza and super friendly staff! The chef asked us how we found the food, and of course we told him we loved it, as it really was the best pizza I had in a long time. I wish I lived closer, but now I have the best excuse to go back to Windsor. I really want to try the rest of their food, but how do I resist ordering a pizza again when I go back?
