I love this place! Over the years more and more has been added to the Quarry Bank Mill estate. The most recent of which is the Manor House gardens which are a real hidden gem. Gone are all the rhododendrons and underneath the National Trust gardeners have found a grotto, footpaths and flower beds. This place gets pretty busy on the weekends so if advise doing the mill tour and apprentice house early and the gardens later. It’s also worth walking up past the apprentice housetops Styal Village to see the church and millers cottages. The café has a really good selection of good on offer, much of it using local produce. Hot drinks and food can also be ordered to go, so if you’re walking the dog you can get a latte to take with you. There are frequently workshops and children’s activities on at weekends, make sure to check the National Trust website for more details.

My experience is limited to The Mill House. Loaded with history and artifacts. Part of the National Trust. £4 to park £8 to enter one(of three) areas/‘attractions’ Celia was a great interpreter! Warm, knowledgeable and very interesting. She made for a memorable trip. =D I would go back to see the other areas that I didn’t get a chance to see this first go-round.
