Whyteleafe Tavern

I have a special fondness for this pub. I drank Guinness here everyday when I visited England. I stayed up the street at a little Travelodge and walked down the road to Whyteleafe Tavern every night.
The staff was so inviting and generous. I was chatted up by several locals, who asked me about the States and told me really interesting stories. The pubtender was a total doll who liked to give me a hard time about my non-​stop inquiries about shrimp flavored chips the like and the owner was warm and welcoming.
The resident dog was adorable and hilarious… clearly ‘in charge’. I really enjoyed a Saturday night there, listening to music, sipping beer and people watching. When I left town, I was sent off with hugs! From total strangers who had become almost friends over the course of my vacation.
I look forward to going back. I’ll make a point of it.
