Don’t be put off by the somewhat dour exterior of ‘Tameway Tower’, the awful building which is home to ‘Coffee Comforts.’ This independent café is Walsall’s best kept secret, and not too easy to find unless you know what you’re looking for. There are leather settees and stripy sock monkeys dotted about, as well as some very cool ‘Britannia’ wallpaper. There is not an enormous range of food, but what they do, they do well — cooked breakfasts, jacket potatoes, enormous omelettes, and sandwiches, all made to order. Best of all, it’s very good value! — £2.50 for a sandwich, packet of crisps, and a drink.

An independently run business. Always welcomed with a smile. You will find enough room here for a business meeting, or a corner for a quiet coffee with a friend. The coffee is excellent, served by people who know how to make a brew! At Coffee Comforts you get top quality for a low price. Thank you for looking after me!

Coffee Comforts is a lovely independent coffee shop at the top of Bridge St in Walsall. Well worth the very short walk up the hill, this place sells an array of hot and cold food and good coffee at excellent prices, is well presented with good décor and wifi and is a great place to hide away and work or hold business meetings or meetups. Most importantly, the service is excellent and comes with a welcoming smile! I am so glad to see events like Walsall Social Media Surgery and business networking events are taking place here. This is an open and welcoming place and deserves much attention. So, flying the flag for #indielove in my home town, I think both Walsall residents and businesses as well as anyone who comes into Walsall for whatever reason should pay a visit to Coffee Comforts and support this place on a regular basis. Recommended.

I’ve been hearing all good things about this place and following a press launch at Newhall Art Gallery(just a few minutes around the corner, well worth a visit, especially the new Damien Hirst exhibit) this is my opportunity to check it out for myself. Upon entering, I immediately get a sense that this was an old school diner/café and as it turned out, the lovely staff tell me it used to be a Chinese restaurant. It’s the warmth and setting that stands this place out; a pretentious coffee shop where the people who make the coffee think they know better than the customer they are serving this ain’t. Give me a place like this where you’re greeted with a smile and appreciated any day. It’s also very reasonable with my regular large Americano(so difficult to get a long coffee to sip in those aforementioned places) is just £1.95. There’s a simple selection of hot food too with jacket potatoes and sandwiches starting at under £2! Coffee Comfort, as the name suggests, is a great place to work, to chat or relax with sofas and table seating to suit whatever it is you’re up to. The location is at odds as it’s unlikely you will stumble across unless you you do need to know it’s there so to let you know it’s the road that has Revolution on it and leads to the back of big High Street name, Debenhams. I get the feeling this street is getting ready for a facelift and Coffee Comforts is just the start.

I discovered Coffee Comforts through their great social media campaign, inviting local people to drop by. shamefully it took me quite a while to grab my books and head in for some working time, but I was very pleased that I did. The place is extremely warm and welcoming, with free wi-fi and a good selection of cakes. It’s not at all pretentious, very pleasant and well designed and — most importantly — an absolute bargain. I was able to get a(very tasty) 3-egg omelette with ham and cheese with a pot of tea for £3.48. With a number of great deals, a positive, homely attitude and free wi-fi, I shall be making more trips to work in this office!
