Lovely, cosy pub with a fantastic Sunday lunch. Buried in the heart of a quintessential English village, this pub was a charming place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. I imagine the roaring fire on a winter’s day would make it even cosier. I had the mixed roast which was a combination of well-cooked meats, with the ham being the stand out. Vegetables were on the stingy side but, honestly, there’s enough food on the plate to satisfy the hungriest of people. This was followed by the largest sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had the occasion to eat. But eat it all I did. I mean we’re all pretty much asleep right now, thanks to the masses of lovely food. It’s 6.10pm. I’d be remiss not to mention that another draw for this place has to be the daily visit by a barge dog, Loki, who is one of the fluffiest, friendliest dogs I’ve ever had the occasion to meet. Seriously Google ‘barge dogs’ if you want some fluffy cute in your life. Ahem…anyway, the pub. A+.

Lovely bar. I came here to eat, me and 4 other friends. Food was good, it didn’t take too long cooking, the staff was lovely as well and definitely the rustic décor is a plus. I definitely recommend this place as a local lovely pub.

A McMullens pub with the main emphasis on eating. They normally have two real ales from McMullens and one guest beer. The beer is usually good and if there is a problem with it then they don’t argue. The sandwiches that I had there recently were good.
