This is a pub nearby to my parents and I’ve been here a few times. Its a nice pub and its got a few nice big open fires so thats nice in the winter(or any time its cold so could be any time of the year!). Its a pretty large pub but every time I’ve visited its pretty much full — always been a weekend around lunch time. Last time I visited I had the breaded mushrooms for starter — can’t remember the sauce it came with but that was nice and the mushrooms were not bad too — shame about the pot sauce came in had cracks. For main I had the slow cooked chicken. Other people had chargrilled chicken and a couple pies. Unfortunately it was a slightly longer wait than expected — maybe my chicken was really being slow cooked. This time my food was«OK». The leg part of the chicken was nice but the breast part was very dry which was a shame. I had a decent amount of gravy but not enough. The veg was nothing to write home about! I remember on previous visits the food overall being a bit«meh» — which is the definition of a 2⁄5 rating so it gets a 2. I have to mention that on one visit we got a couple shared platter things for starters — including I think with various deep fried things. Which I remember liking the platters. But my rating is taking all the few visits overall.

A lovely country side pub just a short walk from my hotel. Had good Fish and Chips with green pea mash and a great rhubarb, plum and cherrry crumble. The buidling, interior and nice staff adds half a star.
