Fed up of Christmas food etc, we, the wife and I decided to go out for something different and on browsing through the local restaurants that we have never tried, we settled on Sorrento Ristorante Italiano. We had heard only good reviews, and only saw one or too negative reviews, but as our son had previously recommended this to us and knowing he likes good food(no points for guessing who he takes after) we managed to book a table for that evening. The restaurant is family run, with the décor being of a strong Italian design, to provide some form of authentic ambience. It is a small restaurant and which takes approx, 80 covers. The service is friendly and relaxed, they don’t rush you, but they are attentive when you need them. They have a set menu to choose from with the addition of daily specials. On this occasion, they had pheasant, mallard in cherry sauce, rack of lamb and lobster linguine. Also they will do there best to accommodate your personal choice. I requested a linguine carbonara as this is my favorite and also a good way of gauging the restaurants capabilities. I can safely say that they past with flying colours, as this was the best i’ve tasted other than from my own kitchen.
