This place is very good for your laundry. All machines are always working. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday’s are reduced price days. Neat and clean.

I am a fan of this room as I spent a lot of my first year of university in it. It was a good place where we played computer, watched films, played drinking games such as beer pong and centurion whilst others just socialised around us. The space is what you make it. One time we had the children who live on campus with their student parents in there and they were cheering on my mates because they were 21 down on Pro Evolution Soccer with a minute to go then won 32 in added time. They went ballistic much to my frustration but later on I could really see the funny side of it. The cocktail wasn’t open when I was there and I completely agree this is due to poor management of the University but a good opportunity for some local entrpeneur.

Although this space is in principal a great idea, with the Park Village residences lacking common areas, in reality all it offers is a TV and cosy place to sit — both of which most people have in their bedrooms. It’s sad because this used to be the Park Village Cocktail Lounge which made delicious student-priced cocktails(including a free on on your birthday!), as well as hosting popular events through the week like quiz and open mic nights. The closure of the bar(as well as Bramber House bar The Grapevine) seems to be part of university management’s overall financial strategy to make cuts and homogenise student choice, boo hoo.

The Park Village Social Area is located in the same building as the Park Village manager’s office, and porter’s lodge. Formerly a bar, this area is now nothing more than a rather small lounge area containing a few chairs, some bean bags, and a TV. Having a good time here is most likely possible, but anyone who can enjoy themselves in this particular space could probably have a laugh just about everywhere, thus, what really does it offer?
