Local cheeses nicely displayed, and they’re quite a few. Well informed and friendly staff have made this a destination shop despite the«Newton Abotterisation» of Fore Street. It is in Ticklemore Street but I think it’s called something else now.

The one outstanding point about Totnes is its independent shops in its high street, its like a breath of fresh air to not see 5 or 6 mobile phone shops and the usual faces we have come to expect. Tooked away in a very small side street is an amazing local cheese shop which is worth a visit if cheese of any type is your thing! With a map on the wall showing all the local farms and a fridge full of different cheeses you can really get a sense that these guys know what they are doing and they really do. They will let you taste any of the products and give you a history of the farm and how that cheese is made. They sell some other local items also but Cheese is the main focus. These guys should find a way to get more visibility for their business as i nearly missed it up this tiny side road.

If you like cheese you really should try this shop. They have a fantastic range of cheeses and the staff can tell you all about them. At Christmas I like to busy a selection, not just for me, but to make up food hampers for friends and relatives. Some special cheese and bottle of Sharpham wine and you have a great gift to enjoy.

Another Totnes gem. An absolutely fantastic cheese shop where the staff can tell you all about the cheese, where it was made and how(if you need to know). An excellent range of cow, sheep and goat’s cheeses mostly from the Westcoutnry but they do have other UK cheeses(don’t think they have any from other countries). Great service. Good prices. A definite destination on a day out in Totnes. Parking in town centre car parks.
