I was back at the Designer Outlet shopping around and I thought I would see if anymore progress had been made on the food court seeing as it was lunch time. When I got there, they had opened both Pizza Express and Wagamama. The restaurant is quite stunning, mostly glass, meaning it is nice and bright. Although it is a bit cozy and I think it is quite impressive that the staff manage to navigate their way through the tables so gracefully. The host/manager waited on me for most of my lunch and I have to say that he did a very good job of making sure that everything was going smoothly, not just for me, but for the entire restaurant. You could see him making sure dishes were going out and I could hear him ask staff if they were ok or needed assistance. So I have to say that the service was great! And the food… consistent. I have to say I am a bit in love with the Pianta Pizza… pizza, salad, no cheese, and a bit of spice. They were out of San Pellegrino water… kind of wanted the carbonation, but not the sugar of soda… so I had the Lemon San Pellegrino instead. However… if you are thinking about coming for dinner, you do need to keep in mind that the car park for the outlet closes 30 minutes after the shops close. The shops close at 8 p.m., Pizza Express closes at 11 p.m. and Wagamama closes at 10 p.m. I had thought Mr. Snarky and I could try out Wagamama for dinner, but since he works a bit late each night, I would be worried we would be in a rush to finish dinner and get back to the car before 8:30 p.m. I know it isn’t Pizza Express’ fault, but it does make you wonder why stay open after the outlet closes.
