Viceroy

This used to be one of the best Indian Resturants in Swansea for many Years, and it used to be our regular place to eat, especially for a special ocassion. However, having not been there for a couple of Years, we (6 of us) called in here recently, and took one look around the place and it was empty at 9pm on a Friday night, which has to tell you something, we were then almost begged to stay and have a meal, which would never have happened before, they were more used to turning people away because they were SO busy. Don’t know whats happened here, and obviously cannot comment on the food either. Shame really all round I suppose

waiter seated me and friends to a table asked us what drinks we liked I asked for a bitter lemon he didn’t have a clue of what I meant. So he bought over a bottle of ale I said no that’s not what I asked for so in the end after 5 mins of trying to explain I said just give me a coke. Fault 1…
starter was papaddoms and chutney tray tasted cold, dry and smelt bad Fault 2
main was king prawn masala which looked to me like no prawns were in it. They used artificial seafood flavoured stuff and charged 9.95 for it and the curry was not all that warm like it came out of a microwave fault 3
the mushroom rice was very dry and cold, mushroom Baja was very cold and very dry. Fault 4
chapatti’s were like dough not even cooked. Waiters were very rude and not friendly at all Fault 5
I won’t be going back there for the rest of my life.

Best curry house in Swansea bar none. Just going to collect a chicken saag now. Imran is a legend and even drove me home one night when I was roaring drunk!

Friendly, attentive staff. Prompt service. The varied food we had was very tasty. A very enjoyable evening.
