Marklinmar, it suggests to me that you have got some issues you need to deal with before commenting on any other businesses! Of course they are trying to make money… that is what a business is for, they are not frying chips all day for the sheer pleasure of it. And no, they are not probably wanting to make friends with everyone that comes through the door… it’s called good customer service. As for the food, everytime I have been I have had lovely, hot, tasty and fresh food that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Yes, you might have to queue for a while, but that’s what you have to expect from a top class takeaway. It really makes my blood boil when people like Marklinmar make comments like that… in summary, Marklinmar should get a life and everyone ignore his pathetic comments.

Andy’s Fish Bar in Church Gresley is my local Fish and Chip shop and whilst it is an award winning establishment I have to say that I don’t personally feel the chips are ‘top class’.
Their kebabs are very nice although for some reason I always tend to feel unwell if I have their garlic mayonnaise so now avoid that and usually use my own salad cream or mayonnaise.
The battered sausages are tasty and have a nice crispy coating whilst not being too greasy but the savaloy’s are soft in texture and this can give the impression that they are not cooked properly.
My girlfriend really loves Andy’s and is very fond of their cod and chicken breasts and also the curry sauce.
The staff are always very nice and friendly and despite previous comments the waiting time has never been 30 minutes when we have been.
Sometimes there is a 10 minute wait but this is either due to queues during busy periods or fresh food being cooked.
It is always very clean and hygenic and the menu’s are clear and well presented.
Roadside parking is available next to the Park and directly outside the shop.
I give Andy’s Fish Bar three stars because whilst their food is very nice on the whole and it ticks all the other boxes… it just lacks that X-​Factor for me which I would expect from a chip shop voted as ‘2nd best in Britain’ and have had nice chips in several places in London.

very expencive you end up queing for over half an hour at times portions are not that big but the food is tasty and fresh the staff are very polite and presentable i would reccommend but as a treat as i feel the prices are high

This is an award winning Chip
is always ranked in the top three chippies in the region. There food is really tasty and they even do special nights where they cook the chips in gluten free fat for people with glutton allergies. They have a good range of food freshly cooked from kebabs to burgers. They also offer meal deals and children’s meals. The portion sizes are not big and they are a little more expensive than other chippies in the area but the quality and taste is definately there.
Parking is outside on the road but as it is situated on a quiet road there is always somewhere to pull up outside.
The shop itself is brightly lit with friendly staff and exceptionally high standards of cleaning.

Excellent fish and chip shop, one of the best in the area! only problem is the queues, at weekends allow an extra 29 minutes before getting served but its well worth the wait. There is a great choice of food and all is piping hot and only just cooked. The prices are great too, not too expensive but then the portion sizes are big anyway. The staff are very friendly and helpful although the locals do get upset with people who do not know what they want!

please not they are good plenty of choice and looks extremely clean. staff are very friendly and polite. food aways piping hot and taste great. that’s the good bit.
bad bit due to news stories about him winning. on Friday and saturdays nights it can get very busy and large ques so best to go any other night apart from Sunday when they are closed.
