This lovely Cantonese restaurant was such a surprise. I’ve learned that in England many restaurants require reservations to be seated on the weekend. My group wanted to visit another Cantonese in Stourbridge, but it was booked. So we settled on this one. Nobody in our party of 5 was disappointed after that meal though. Since we had a large sized group, we found the easiest was to order off a set menu. It said it catered to groups of 4, but the restaurant was able to accommodate our 5. We chose menu D, £21 per person. I am struggling to remember the food we had because it was so much! I know the meal began with crispy duck pancakes. Our server shredded what looked like to be a whole duck! It was fantastic. So fresh and crispy. Next came a variety of starters. There were prawns, wontons, chicken skewers, and fried seaweed. The chicken was in a strange sauce that wasn’t my favorite. But everything else was delicious. It felt like we were forgotten about after those starters because we sat there for quite a while. It wasn’t until a member of my parter asked where our food was that they brought it out. And the food wouldn’t stop arriving. So. Much. Food. Luckily we had a mini spinning lazy Susan to spin the dishes around. For our mains, let’s see, we had lemon chicken which was so good we debated ordering another plate. There was a lamb dish, sweet and sour pork, a sizzling steak dish, and this really cute«birds nest» seafood dish. Yes I said cute. I’d never seen something served like that before. It was so much food. Oh yeah we had fried rice too. The lamb was the least favourite of the group, but don’t think it was bad. We just aren’t lamb people I guess. After a «pre starter», filling appetisers, and 5 mains we only wanted one thing… dessert! The group was split between banana fritters and this caramel ice cream dish. I choose the caramel. It reminded me of ice cream bars from back home. Perfection. The bill was also served with some orange chocolates. Bonus! Although I don’t have pics of the food, please believe me when I say it was wonderful! I think it was pricey, but there were 5 of us, and everyone was drinking but me But it was worth it. I think I found my new favourite Cantonese :)
