Once again my rational, local self won out over my thought to jump in the car and drive 20 minutes to the best fish and chips in Manchester(Fosters in Didsbury or Alderley Edge) — buy hey, why not try new things and eventually use the fish and chip shop 5 minutes walk from my house. And overall, yes — pretty damn good fish and chips at pretty damn good prices! We bought 2 cod and a large chips with 2 large mushy peas for £11 which seemed really good value and when I got them home and on the plate the look, smell and consistency of them looked like it was a good choice. The taste overall was good if the chips were a little undercooked for my liking but i definitely will go back with it being so close, even if Fosters fish and chips is on a different planet in terms of quality and overall pleasure to eat.

The best chip shop in the north west. I’ve been coming here for the last 20 years, and there is reason for this! The chips are crisp and golden. The pies are cooked to perfection and as for the fish, battered to perfection! The café area is clean and heated and although their isn’t much space on match days, you will always find a seat.
