As part of our ‘get this house sorted’ series — we’ve been calling at B&Q a lot recently and due to the Homebase down the road turning into some super massive £1 store we’re pretty grateful that it’s there.
Choosing what paint we would be having our house done in from top to bottom has been one of those big life decisions (well not really but you still want to get it right…) and the guys on the paint dept have been excellent from the numerous trips I’ve made.
They sell loads of in and outdoor plants, home and DIY stuff — plus loads of parking at the front — definitely a handy place to get your home repair and improvement on!

I have been here a LOT recently as have just bought a house and I seem to need to buy something every other day to complete my long list of DIY tasks !
This store is much bigger than the one at handforth dean, and stocks a greater variety of pretty much everything !! I’ve been here for garden items, tools, paint, sealant, bits and bobs to finish up my sawing of kitchen work tops amongst other things and they 9 times out of ten had everything I wanted.
Very friendly staff, always on hand to offer advice or tell you where something is !
If you’re after a particular paint, I would definitely head to this store. If they don’t have it, they will mix it up for you no problem !!

This store seems to have all the usual building and renovation supplies you would need. We found what we were looking for but had to ask for help finding the items. I don’t have enough to compare with to say whether prices were cheap or pricey. Parking was easy.

This is a very big store and you can get most things here for DIY and decorating. There is a large selection of tiles and wallpaper here as well as all the accessories you need to apply them. It has garden centre and there are lots of shrubs, perennials and annuals as well as pots. water features and furniture. I find the staff here nice but sometimes the young ones are very inexperienced and you often end up at the tills waiting for ages as things are not properly labelled. If you need a coffee to calm your nerves there is a small café on site.
