The Junk Rooms is number one in the list of Stirling restaurants but is sadly now CLOSED. I’ve tried so many times to change The Junk Rooms’ description to reflect this but Unilocal won’t verify the change so this is just a review to let anyone that’s thinking of returning to or visiting The Junk Rooms know not to do so! It’s only fitting that my last review has five stars. I bet there’s a Junk Rooms sized hole in your heart, as there is in mine.

Lovely place, great food and really friendly staff. I’ve been going here regularly(money permitting) since it opened, and the quality has been consistently high. The prices are fairly average(expect ~£7 for a main) and there’s a good selection of seasonal food. There’s a well-stocked bar upstairs, and artworks everywhere(all with prices so I assume you can buy them). The music selection is eclectic — jazz, African folk, choral, 80s — but never intrusive or inappropriate(i.e. no pounding techno at 1 in the afternoon). In terms of service, they can be a little erratic. Really lovely people though, and I always have a nice chat with them. This is the kind of café you can spend all day in, reading the books found on the shelves and chatting to friends. Highly recommended. P. S. Check out the wallpaper in the toilets.

Firstly, the place is overpriced. Secondly, the staff and crowd of regulars are pretentious and rude. Avoid if you dislike pomposity in people.

Yet another delightful treat in Stirling, The Junk Rooms is a must for any vintage lover and has to be one of the best shops/eating house in town. Michael works very hard in creating a warm and friendly place with some fantastic food and drink, mix it with the delightful treats of bygone eras and this is a vintage lover’s dream. The art work hanging on the walls are not just for looking at, but everything you can buy which makes it even better. I have recommended The Junk Rooms to all my business friends, whom a few have gone in and come back with«what a a great place«Speaks for itself I think!

Great little place, quirky décor, lovely staff. The food was delicious, from vegan, to vegetarian, to full on meat frenzy. I had the mushroom fritter, which resembled a wonton. The price was a bit on the high side for portion size, and yes technically i did feel as if i could have had 3 times the amount without too much trouble, but i am a trainee competitive eater.
