The Busy Bee is indeed a busy little place at lunchtime! This café is tucked into a beautiful building that’s part of the Lantern Community Centre on the grounds of a Waldorf School so a fair few teachers and staff members take their lunch here. Apparently, many of the veggies are grown on their grounds and the food is delish. They always have a couple of hot plate options, a soup and some salads. The prices are terrifically reasonable. A yummy and filling leek and tomato quiche with side salad is only 4 quid. The soup was fresh and well-seasoned and their cheese rolls(freshly made at the nearby bakery) are also very popular. Tablemates who frequented the place said that the desserts and coffees are also quite heavenly. The staff are all very accommodating and no matter how busy it gets, no one glares at you or tries to hurry you off. If you’re a writer who doesn’t need it to be super quiet, you might want to try spending some time here.
