Of course I’m giving it 5 stars, it’s my local ! Has a beer garden and covered in smoking section outside. Serves St. Austel Brewery real ales. The food is good, and the portions are big the staff are friendly and the entertainment is great Pub Quiz on Tuesday, Music on Friday and Saturday. There is even an annual ‘Spoof’ championship and an annual Conkers Knockout. Brilliant fun.WARNING Please don’t ask ‘Reg’ to sing !

Had a decent swig of the Cornish Rattler here, but this was very much a locals pub and I didn’t feel very welcome, so I was quite quick with my bevvie. then left. Probably a decent punt if you live round here as they do quite a lot of events.

Mine host and hostess at the Carlyon Arms are old hands and were previous landlord/lady here, and after an absence wonderfully returned. They are warm and charming and the staff are always pleasant. Regular live groups make it a great place for music lovers. They do food until late in the evening which is such a wonderful departure from the normal 9pm watershed.

The Carlyon Arms is known as the Sandy as is located on Sandy Lane in St Austell. The pub is for proper drinkers drinking propper drink. They serve proper real ales and is a very relaxed atmosphere. It is a hang out for the regulkars and i know a couple of them and they knock a few back. few seedy people there though!

The Carlyon Arms in St. Austell is a warm and welcoming pub with a real local and homely feel. The bar staff are extra helpful, and the locals love to chat even if they don’t know you! They do lovely food, just the kind of hearty fare you need on a cold winter day! Also they have local brews from the award winning St. Austell’s brewery, and so the pub is worth a try even if just to taste some of these! The pub is family friendly during the day, and quite lively at night without being too loud or raucous. Like i said before, well worth a try x
