Marshmallow Bride

After visiting three other wedding dress shops, trying on dozens of gowns and not finding «the dress», I saw a design I liked in a bridal magazine. I was so delighted when I found the designer was stocked in St Albans but was surprised it was at Marshmallow Brides. I must confess that I had originally dismissed Marshmallow Brides. The name of the store, along with the princess-​style gown in the window, were in stark contrast to my style. I shouldn’t have been such a snob.
I called them to enquire about the dress and they had it in store. Woo!
When we arrived for my appointment it was already waiting for me in the changing room, but I also picked out a few other favourites (using gloves and hanger tags which hadn’t happened in any other shop). Anita was lovely. She helped me into each gown and gave honest feedback; suggesting more dresses based on my taste and what she felt would flatter my shape. Ultimately though, no other dress compared to the one that brought me to the shop in the first place. We tried on the veil and my bridesmaid burst into tears. I explained that I wanted to show it to my mum before ordering so took a card with the dress name and price for later.
I knew it was best to order the dress in advance so 9 months later I went in for my first fitting. Remember these are extra to the cost of the dress and in all likelihood they’ll be a lot. Wear your wedding shoes (and underwear if you can) as they’re important to the fit. I think it took four fittings for me but by the time I collected it the fit was perfect. Anita showed my bridesmaid how to «floof» my train and bustle my dress which set her mind at ease too.
I can’t thank Anita and the staff at Marshmallow Brides enough. They were warm and professional and I’d recommend them to all brides in the area.
