I can tolearate most Tesco expresses, but if you can give this one a wide berth. All the dross of Southend shop here and most don’t pay if you get my meaning. The staff aren’t very friendly but to be fair to them, I have never asked them for anything. The shop is dirty and often haven’t got what you want anyway.

The only thing going for this Tesco store really is that it is convenient, and cheaper than the only other rival at this end of the High Street(M & S). Other than that it is pretty grim. It is very crowded with narrow aisles, and no real place to queue so at busy time there are up to 15 people queuing up the already narrow aisles. Several times I have given up and just left my stuff and gone. The staff are not really enthusiastic or helpful — from the security guard glaring at you as you enter the store to the till staff who begrudgingly serve you. You can get a buggy round this store if you are prepared to reverse back out if any aisle with a person already in it.

Have found the staff in this store to not be very friendly and all seem to be multi-skilled into doing all the jobs around this small but busy store at the same time as opposed to just getting more staff. Have found that the prices in this store are more expensive then in the main Tesco store along the A127 and the staff there are a lot more friendly and helpfull aswell! Would only shop for the essentials in this store but then they don’t offer much more then that anyway, at a guess I would say the staff here applied for the proper Tesco but didn’t make the fast paced standard!
