Mario La Stalla

Had been to la stalla years ago and had been impressed so decided to return with group of friends on 3 December 2011 for first christmas get together.
Wish we had not bothered, atmosphere was hostile from the start, we were the only people in the restaurant so cannot blame being rushed off their feet.
We were served by the owners daughter and wife who were argumentative and over charged us (wine we never had — went off red faced in a rage and even rummaged through the bottle bin to try and prove us wrong), she also banged the bar and told us to pay attention while she recited our drinks order, pay attention, we were frightened not to.
Italian people I have met before have been fun and friendly, don’t know where these got the personalities from but they should not be in this line of work.
Needless to say we will not be returning.

My friend invited me to that lovely place. It is a family run business. Mum, Dad and a daughter. What a great place to get that homely feeling. Everyone is looking after you and the food… oh yes the food! It is brilliant! Steaks are very nice and are melting in your mouth. If you like fish definitely you will like this place. They have few different species on the menu plus very nice shell fish dishes, too. Price — not to cheap — but we are all prepared to pay for quality. The only thing I wasnt sure about were the bathrooms — dated and grabby. Oh well you cant have everything. Anyway it doesnt matter as the food was outstanding.
