I go here for Masters Football every year and I occasionally go to Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey matches. The Motorpoint arena is a fairly average venue of its type, and maintains decent toilet facilities, typical ‘big venue’ catering costs and decent seating with quite good legroom. However, the ‘no food/​drink brought to be into the facility’ rule is often strictly enforced, which is a bit of a pain when you actually have to queue for ages for over-​priced food. Fewer big-​name acts have been performing here recently, and with the addition of the Leeds Arena, this isn’t likely to get any better.

Hallam FM Arena hosts shows from wrestling to ice-​skating to kids concerts. The stadium is a great place to be with a great atmosphere and a pleasure to be able to watch such a variety of shows on which it holds inside the stadium. The parking is a bit tight and sometimes you get spaces quite a walk away from the stadium but the walk is worth it. It is also a bit pricey n some parts, but a great place to spend a day!

I have been to quite a few big arenas around the country and find this one to be the most disappointing. The sound quality always seems to be poor here, I saw Queen there last month and could hardly make out what they were singing at times.
It gets very crowded inside at major concerts and takes up to half an hour to queue for a drink or the toilet. Food prices aren’t too bad and they do 2 pint beer glasses which cn save you having to go back again!
Parking is a nightmare and expensive so either get someone to drop you off or use public transport

The Hallam FM Arena is a fantastic venue for a wide variety of shows, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every time I’ve attended at the arena. Of course, the food and the merchandise can be quite expensive, which is to be expected, but is still quite an annoyance. There is plenty of parking available, and the Arena has its own stop on the Sheffield Supertram network, making it easy to get to the Arena, whether by car or by public transport. I’m thoroughly looking forward to the next time I attend a show there this month. Coldplay are going to be great!

I have been to see a few shows at the arena it can be expensive once your inside for food and for the products they sell for the shows which when you have paid quite alot for tickets doesn’t help when you have children asking for things but you do expect this with places like this. The facilities are good and they have a number of places you can park for a decent price but getting out when the show finishes can be a nightmare when everyone is living at once so be patient if you do go.
