So the two stars is simply because I have been here a few years ago when it was not so bad but my latest trip was a definite 1 star.
The staff were hit and miss with some indifference (waiting for a an age for the bill and one of the main courses), some a bit scary (seemed angry when we asked for cutlery) and a bit of being friendly. They seemed to realise we were not that happy and as we finished up our own birthday surprise for the two birthday boys they brought out a cake with a candle which was kind.
It doesn’t make up for the fact that the food was simply not good. My pizza was dry and cheeseless — well nearly and others were rather tasteless. The starters were OK but just don’t bother with a main.

I’ve gone for 3 star due to the SLOW service. I couldn’t fault the food, delicious as always, but the service was painfully slow!

The usual, but it’s very quiet which is weird. In an off the tracks location, which is hard to find if you don’t know the area. The same menu as all the other restaurants in the chain. Overpriced, bland pizzas to suit an acquired taste, and an exoensive and mediochre wine list.

Big place and has a light airy feel as the tables are not too close together. Food is good, being a chain it has a standard to keep and this one does not let the chain down. Try the dough balls, really good.

Think these places are much of a muchness but everytime I have been here, service and food have been great. Standard italian and won’t vary from city to city, you know what to expect. Restaurant is clean and customer service good.

Was disappointed with Pizza Express. I thought the waiters clothes looked dirty, they did not appear to clean the glasses or plates (both!) properly before serving another drink or main course. I had to tell the waiter to take it away as the humongous plates (for food that wasn’t there-​garlic bread!). When my friend asked for a clean spoon (as the one given to her was dirty) the waitress just looked at her, didn’t even say anything and apparently shoved another one in her hand! The food seemed to lack the ingredients it was advertising — I didn’t see the point!

Nice and modern interior provides a fairly smart place to dine. Despite Pizza Express now been seen as a chain, it is still able to offer a fairly good selection of foods and at a reasonable quality and price.
