Busy Weatherspoon pub in centre of town. Cheap food and drink and is always handy if you want a quick drink before going to see seomething at the City Hall, which is next door.

This is opposite the RSVP bar on division street. It is a wetherspoon chain, theres loads of wetherspoons in town. so it is basically the same as wetherspoon but they specialise more on wine. It is always packed at the bar, throughout the day there is an upstairs and a downstairs, so it is a busy atmophere and it is full of mixed people. food and drinks are decently priced and good. bar staff are friendly too

A typical Wetherspoons really. Reasonable food, drink and prices all rolled into one.

Lloyds is the slightly more upmarket version of Wetherspoons and this one attracts a different punter. There are more students and young professionals and the drinks prices are similar to those at Wetherspoons. At the weekends the bar is packed out and it can be hard to get served. Also the piped music is turned on much louder after around 8pm, which can be really off putting if you’ve settled your conversation to go with the level that the music was at during the rest of the night! I’ve found the bar staff here to be a little less friendly than at other bars and pubs, and sometimes they’ve seem rude and sharp. All in all, if I want to go to a low priced chain pub, I wouldn’t choose this branch of Lloyds — it seems too far up itself for somewhere so cheap and atmosphereless.

Another bar in the Wetherspoons chain so you should know what to expect — reasonable food that’s fairly cheap and cheap drinks. It’s a good place to start your night because of the drink prices but while the bar is massive, there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of seating. There are seats upstairs on a mezzanine level but it isn’t very practical for ladies in high heels.
