Very good fish and chips, and proper curry sauce for dipping :)

Eine Riesenportion Fish & Chips leider noch nicht einmal ansatzweise gesalzen. Ebenso das Erbspüree, völlig geschmacklos. Die Panade war knusprig, der Fisch frisch. Wir mussten recht lange warten, der Augenmerk war wohl auf das Take away-​Publikum ausgerichtet. Dennoch auch in diesem Fall gilt: Fish & Chips mit Vinegar und Sauce Tatar ist ein Muss für jeden England-​Besucher!

The fish was awful
We chose Trawlers for lunch expecting something really good based on the reviews. First impressions looked good full of local people, mostly pensioners, like ourselves, and a good atmosphere, Indeed I had no complaints at all about the place (other than the fact that the tables were shoehorned in to get as many as possible into the smallest space). The service was good, the staff seemed fine and I could not complain about the chips.
But the fish and that’s the most important part! We ordered plaice. The first taste was good; but as it went on it became less tasteful and more oily. The fish was not very white, but it was spoilt by the batter, which was too much, hard and even sickening. When we left I had the taste of the batter lingering in my mouth for hours, and my wife found it repeating right through the evening. Nobody asked if everything was all right!

The best fish and chip restaurant in East Sussex. Always great full portions and really fresh. Would recommend the restaurant and the great service received.

We Iove Trawler’s. Yummy fish ‘n chips, takeaway is good, eating in is great too. Large portions!

Auf der Suche nach einem guten Fish ‘n’ Chips — Take Away wurde wir auf diesen Laden verwiesen und wurden schnell aber wie so oft in Südengland bedient. Nach wenigen Metern wieder am Strand waren wir angenehm überrascht von der Qualität der Fish ‘n’ Chips!
