Literally meaning ‘quick lunch’ in Italian, Pranzo Veloce certainly fills a niche in MediaCityUK for customised, no nonsense pizzas(as well as baguettes and salads). They only have one size pizza available(9″) which is just enough to fill you up if you’re hungry, or can be shared between two if you only wanted a lighter snack — there are a couple of seats to eat in but we opted to takeaway and enjoy them on the nearby lawns outside the main studios(under the big screen). It’s a very simple process, choose either a standard margherita for £3, add one meat and one veg option and it’s £3.50, two and two and it’s £4. Additional veg toppings cost 50p each and meat 75p. The thin-crust pizzas are cooked and served very quickly(they use a small but I’m guessing insanely hot oven). Don’t expect them to be the best pizzas around, they’re not, but they’re good value for the price, the bases are firm and not soggy and you can choose as many toppings as you’d like. They also sell drinks, cakes and snacks. Tip: they’re located towards the back of the building that Booth’s is located in, next to Frurt Frozen Yogurt.
