I’ve learned how to sew and made a tote bag in the process! Never knew it could be so much fun and I’ve made some great friends too. Ali’s shop is fully of quirky and bespoke items. Many of which are made by the very talented Ali herself. Items I’ve purchased include bespoke hoodies and tops personalised with names in my family tartan. Nothing is ever too creative and Ali always talks you through what can be done. Her rhino range makes me laugh and then there’s Ali herself — a lovelier and more creative person you could not meet. This gift shop is so much more than meets the eye. Go to her Facebook page for updates on her classes and what she’s creating. Her workshops are fun and incredibly well taught. I went from being unable to sew a button on to a being a proud owner of a sewing machine who can actually use it to make things! I’ve made a tote bag, learned how to put a zipper in, learned how to embroider and make paper lanterns. Her classes are reasonably priced and always come with a cup of tea/coffee and good banter. Whether you’re looking for a unique gift that isn’t on the high street or for something creative to do then I wholeheartedly recommend you take a look and pop in for a class.

My colleague introduced this cracking wee shop to me. I was actually needing new windscreen wipers which my colleague advised I could get in the shop next door. That’s for another review. It’s a small shop but it’s filled to max with many beautifully hand crafted gifts. They have cards, lots of motivational messages, pretty much gifts for any occasion. The lady will ask if you need any help but I like browse as there is so much to take in. She’s very polite and leaves you along. On my second visit I took along my mum and she was very impressed and thought the same as me. After perusing we came across a lovely Christmas gift for her sister. The prices are very reasonable and the lady asked if it was for a gift. When we said yes she carefully wrapped up with a bow. It was beautifully done and I know my auntie will love this wee present. I’m giving nothing away incase she reads this review. Just know it’s a lovely gift. The last time I had chatted with the lady I found out that she also runs sewing classes. She said to check out the website for details and she runs the classes in the back of the shop. I have unfortunately never got round to it as I’ve been so busy lately. I would love to get back into my sewing and I think her classes would be ideal and they’re handy to get to. This is definitely a wee shop to pop into and browse as I’m sure you will find a lovely unique gift for that someone special.

This is a lovely wee shop! Tucked away between a pizza shop and a car supplies shop, this little gem is a delight to look around. There are so many lovely items on sale, from picture frames and mirrors to jewelry and baby items. The shop is fairly small, yet they managed to get plenty items out without it looking cluttered. The first few times i came here i would just be having a wee look, usually to pass 5 minutes if running early for work, the staff were always happy to let me have a look round. The first item i bought was for a gift for a friend; a lovely heart shaped picture frame made out of granite. While chatting at the till i mentioned a mirror i’d seen while browsing before but could not see it anymore. She mentioned that they do house parties and the last one of these mirrors were in her colleagues car. we arranged a time i would come and get it. when i came back, her colleague hadn’t dropped it off yet but she phoned her up and after 10 minutes she arrived. I felt that her enthusiasm to assist me with the mirror was really nice, she could of just said they were out of stock. The mirror is beautiful also, it looks like a birdcage split down the middle, the mirror reflecting it so it looks whole.(don’t know if that made sense! i’ll try to get a picture up!). They also sell Pilgrim Jewelry which i love, and do loads of personalised items such as names on clothes, initials on necklaces and finger print jewelry. They also do parties and classes, teaching people of all ages how to craft using different styles and textures, and sensory learning with babies as well as baby massage! This shop is more than just a shop! It allows the consumer to not only purchase the beautiful items in the shop, but to also, if desired, to learn how to make a lot of the items too! I think that’s pretty sweet!
