The Tunbridge Wells Hotel is located in The Pantiles, right across from the gazebo. The sitting area downstairs is charming and cozy and the restaurant is terrific. This review is ONLY for the hotel part. The hotel is a 3 star, the restaurant gets 4. The bedrooms definitely need refurbishing. The bedrooms are up flights of narrow stairs(as many as four) in need of new carpeting. There is no elevator. Staff will help with bags. The two rooms our party occupied were very small with a window. The one with twin beds didn’t have a closet and no place to store the bags. The double bed room had slanted creaky floors, meaning that everything rolled off the end table. The mattress sagged in the middle. Bathroom had bath/shower combo. A bottle of sparkling water is complimentary and refilled daily, however, if you sign up to receive a newspaper, you’ll be charge 1.5 pounds daily. The best part of the stay is the bountiful breakfast included each morning. Several entrée choices are available and everything is really delicious. Wifi is included in hotel fee and it’s fast. The personnel are really friendly and helpful. Parking is on the other side of the busy thoroughfare up a hill. Make sure to ask for directions to find it. Within walking distance are shops, pubs, and other restaurants.
