Salute Restaurant

As usual, had a great meal and great wine.
The staff are well mannered and attentive without being intrusive. They also know the menu well and are not afraid to offer suggestions if you are at a loss what to order.
This is my go to restaurant when I can’t be bothered cooking.

When we go out for a family meal it’s a test for any establishment and this was no exception. When I rang to book the lady didn’t think we would need to reserve a table until she heard the size of the party, then there was the ‘some of us need gluten free’ and just when she thought it was safe, ‘how is your disabled access?’
So, we got there (more or less on time) and found the door being held open by the manager who then showed us to our table.
It took us a while to decide what to eat and, although we ordered just after 7 our waiter allowed us to have the two for £12 deal. We were even more pleased when we saw that a child can eat free when adults are dining. It looked like the bill was going to be very manageable indeed.
The child’s portion was indeed generous and he had to take some pizza home. As to the adults, most of us had more than we could handle and the food was pleasant but not the best I’ve experienced. There was a charge of £2 to have gluten free pasta (or pizza base) but those affected said this was worth paying.
Staff were very attentive and friendly and the evening was jolly pleasant.
Oh yes that incredible shrinking bill… was looking good until the drinks and desserts were added then it resembled a normal bill again.
