We came here on a Sunday afternoon in winter and enjoyed a lovely roast dinner. We got the beef sharing plate between three and it was plenty of food for us. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious as well. We sat outside in our own booth with a heater which was nice and cosy. Only way to make it better would be to provide blankets for those sitting outside in winter.

Must do if you are in the area. Excellent food, friendly service, and amazing live music. Not to be missed.

Just moved to Richmond and had our first Sunday roast at The Greyhound after reading about it on the Richmond blog. It was a hot day and it almost caused to order something light but because it was our first roast, we held tight and ordered the Scottish beef sharing platter. The whole thing was fantastic. Nicely cooked beef, very tender and tasty. Fried parsnips were crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle. Too many sides to name them all but all were delicious. We sat out on the back garden in a covered«pod» which was a bit toasty because of the setting sun but stuck around desert anyway. The sticky toffee was my favorite although the crumble was all delicious. The place is a great spot. Family and kid and dog friendly. Highly recommended!

I’d recommend The Greyhound to anyone looking for some delicious food in a nice gastro pub setting. Located opposite Kew Green, it’s in a really nice location. As we were late, we had to wait at the bar for about 10 minutes before being seated. The staff were very friendly and apologetic that we had to wait, even though it was our own fault for being late! There’s an upstairs dining area, but sitting downstairs on a weekend night means that you get to hear the live acoustic music being played. Outside has cute little booths with fairy lights which looked gorgeous. The menu isn’t huge, but I really struggled to choose between all the amazing sounding dishes. We opted for the fish sharing board to start. It’s brilliant value — enough for four to share or two to have as a small meal. I was really impressed by the trendy presentation of fishes dishes in ceramic pots, in little frying baskets, on a wooden board, and everything tasted as fantastic as it looked! If you like fish, you must have this! We then had two different lamb dishes for mains. My lamb was cooked to perfection. It was a very large portion, which was brilliant. We were really impressed with the service and the quality of the food. We had to turn down desserts as we were so stuffed. It isn’t the cheapest. Dinner and wine probably cost us about £80, but it was a real treat and I can’t wait to eat there again!

+Outside seating +Great food +Welcoming staff This unassuming local pub in Kew Bridge is a real gem. Tucked away in a residential area at eastern end of Kew Gardens, this pub has both great food and nice ambience. The beautiful Tudor style building oversees a nice park that looks absolutely gorgeous in the summer. The pub has additional seating upstairs as well as at the back garden. The garden is especially nice when the weather is good.

Best pub food in Kew, and friendly, patient service. The booths in the back are cozy in nearly all weather conditions, and the recent refurb has turned the upstairs dining room into an elegant place. The mezze sharing platter is especial nice if you are looking for a vegetarian option.

Really excellent food. The fish(of fish and chips) was lightly battered, not overpowering the excellent fish at all. The Greyhound Beefburger was excellent too. Great tasting patty, cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even though we didn’t have a reservation and the place was packed.

A nice pub with excellent staff. We went for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly, great with dogs and I thought the atmosphere was really nice. Busy and yet not overcrowded.

we wandered into this place after spending some time with our friends brood of kids in the park behind the pub. greyhound is such a find, very unassuming in the front. the patio is well laid out with regular picnic tables and these«huts» that seat 6 – 10 people. the pub is very family and dog friendly. the menu was closer to that of a gastropub with even several selections for sharing boards. –we had the sharing board of burgers and fries. definitely a place to go back to on a summer’s day when the sun is shining.

My least favourite pub on kew green. This place has been here for as long as i can remember but doesn’t really change. Considering how much competition there is in such a small area you’d think they would try harder. The only thing this place has going for it is it’s location. Interior lacks character and atmosphere. My opinion, avoid it and go to one of the many others nearby

I recently did a little pub crawl around Kew Green, and popped into The Greyhound to check out what food they did after reading rave reviews on Qype. After ordering a couple of drinks, and finding my glass of Vodka and coke was warm and smelt of dishwasher liquid, I can’t say that I was tempted to stay for another drink. The food menu seemed reasonable, with some tasty sounding items, including a sausage platter to share, but we decided we wasn’t too keen on the ambience and would check out one of the other pubs. I did note that it had a beer garden, so once the weather improves, that may come in handy!

We went on Mothers day and discovered it was a very child friendly pub. BBQ out the back and well… lots of kids having lunch with their parents. Great to know if you have kids I guess but we ended up taking our drinks outside and having them by the Green in the sun which was more than OK. Nice pub. It’s local to me(I live in Kew) so will be back.

This is the best pub around the Kew Green and serves up great meals, beer and wine. The extra bonus is the fab beer garden. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. This is a dog friendly pub

When I first moved into Chiswick some 12 years ago, this was one of the first pubs I found and it became my first local. Situated right next to Kew Bridge(on the Richmond side), it sits on a pretty little green with a duck pond and on the other side of the main road is a cricket pitch. A small and cosy pub with wooden floors and a pretty little garden out back. It is generally frequented by the locals of Kew but in the summer it is a great place to go and chill. Sit on the green in the sun and relax, ideal for families, some of which will spend all day there, allowing Mum and Dad to have a drink whilst playing football etc with the kids on the green. Sunday is read the papers day, maybe take in a bit of cricket and a nice Sunday lunch and during the week it has a fair amount of people in after work. If it has a problem it is that the service has always been a bit hit and miss but if you go in expecting to be there for a while and don’t let it stress you out, it is a perfect place to un-wind.

Lovely location with great pub food. I particularly recommend the spicy meatball starter, but virtually everything on the menu is good. There is a nice patio out back which is almost always full, but great if you can bag yourself a table. In the evenings the place can get quite busy, but the lovely manager is very accommodating and goes out of her way to get you a table. The fact that this pub doesn’t show the usual football matches on TV means you can have a great drink and/or meal in a buzzing but pleasant environment. And best of all, on sunny days you can take your drinks out front(albeit in plastic cups) and sit on Kew Green.

Delicious meals in a really cool environment. The sunday lunches are amazing and huge although you will have to be quite early to get a seat. The location is great too, right on Kew Green.

The magnificent C19th fake Tudor exterior of this pub belies a rather small and disappointing interior, with a fair deal of wasted space in front of the bar, and a rather botched refurbishment leaving bare floorboards clashing mightily with a row of blue felt seats and a nasty yellowish-cream ceiling. On the plus side, it serves a decent range of beers, has a 1970s two-player arcade machine, a wide range of(rather expensive) food and an attractive-looking beer garden. The only other punters were some generously proportioned, potato-shaped men and an American tourist, but it does apparently get very crowded on a Friday and a Saturday. No TV, but it does have the whole eastern section of Kew Green as its front lawn, so it can be worth staring at that instead.
