Joie de Paris is yet another French-style café in Richmond serving up coffee, tea and delicious sandwiches. What sets Joie de Paris apart from the local competition are the types of sandwiches they offer. In addition to the obvious choices(e.g. spicy tuna or mozzarella, tomato and basil paninis), they have a selection of Middle Eastern-inspired sandwich fillings including my favourite, chicken shawarma. The chicken shawarma is marinated and cooked in a delicious blend of spices, and is incredibly tender. My favourite way of enjoying the shawarma is in a panini, which comes piled with the chicken, lettuce, tomato, gherkin and garlic mayo, and is served piping hot. If you are interested in adding a bit of extra kick, you can always ask for a bit of chilli sauce on the side. To top things off, you cannot beat the prices at Joie de Paris. For about £11 you can have two paninis, a coffee and a soda. So long as I am in Richmond, I will stop by Joie de Paris when I am craving a sandwich with a bit of Middle Eastern flavour.
