Goodness, £7.65 for a burger in a roll with a slice of tomato and a 1p piece size of sauce! Then I think how much a burger and chips usually costs these days in a restaurant(£8-£9) and the chips portions are big enough to share(if you’re not too ravenous) and not your skinny frozen jobs either, so I suppose it’s on par with most places. Also, chickpea and quinoa is quite an original combination, and the burger was very tasty. On this occasion I was also fortunate in that in association with the ‘Veganuary’ campaign(go vegan for January) HBC were offering 50% off vegan marked food if you showed a voucher from the Veganuary website on your phone, or in print form, so I received a discount. There was a bit of confusion on ordering; being used to table service at the city centre HBC I had forgotten to note my table number and me vaguely saying ‘It’s the one right at the back’ meant my food was marked to go to the table next to us, but we managed to intervene when it arrived. Also we were told everyone from the same table should order at the same till(there were two tills) but then who would stay at the table to watch our things… in the end I don’t know if we split across tills or not! Food was great — delicious burger and not up in my top 3 sweet potato fries experiences in Glasgow, but still good. I ordered simply tap water and there is machine where you can help yourself, which is good when you’ve just inhaled a bowl of salty foods.

I was really surprised how much I liked their food. One of the veggie burgers was excellent. My husband got the lamb one and thought it was really good too. The chips were good as well. The atmosphere is sort of blah where they sort of have table service but you walk up to the counter and order. They bring your food and drinks but that seemed to be about it. Great easy place to have a family meal though.

Top scran. The burgers are properly immense in here, with a ridiculous variety including chicken and lamb burgers. The sides are epic as well, including the biggest side salad I have ever seen(particularly for the price!) and the chargrilled vegetables fills my heart(and belly) with happiness. Portion wise, this place spits in the face of the rival restaurants in Braehead, particularly The Filling Station. If you dig amazing burgers, there’s no other place to be than here. Oh, and a cheeky 15% off for students is always a treat. for students!
