Worst pub in reading. Don’t be fooled travellers. Go to O’Neils or somewhere else closer. maybe walk about or bugle its £2 cheaper for the same drinks and they don’t even have the football on TV. Apparently they cut sky. Don’t come here on Sunday If you want football. My drinks were a good beer and a whisky in both pubs, crazy price difference.

The Three Guineas is located immediately outside the southern entrance to Reading Station. It’s a pretty large pub geared towards live sports screenings but in no way feels intimidating to those who just fancy having a drink before or after catching a train(or in my case waiting for my very late friend to pick me up). They serve five real ales which they rotate regularly and were advertising that they had a new wine menu. With them opening from 08:30 most days you can get a cooked breakfast for less than £7 though the menu has lots of other choices if you wanted something less greasy. There’s a daily £5 lunch menu and the list for main courses includes pretty much all the standard pub favourites like Cumberland Sausage and Haddock & Chips. The outdoor seating area to the front is large and catches the sun, though during my visit, as the Station is undergoing major redevelopment, the surroundings were still in a semi-construction site state. Good to people watch from though ;)

Freundliche Atmosphäre, nette und aufmerksame Bedienung, gemütliche Irish-Sports-Bar. Der Pub befindet sich im alten Teil des Bahnhofs und läd zu einem schnellen Imbiss und Bier ein.

Not just a station pub, but as close to a non-chain, real Irish pub as you’ll get on England. Tonight, the London Irish supporters are in. And so are a band. There are folks dancing, strangers missing trains, and general happiness all round. A real buzz and a real atmosphere. Really worth turning up early for your train.

Large station pub serving a really good selection of beers. Being in a station has a lot of disadvantages, being busy but with people coming and going is not good for atmosphere, but if a pub can overcome this for the most part then it can really stand out, as most station pubs are honestly pretty naff. It is a Brunel listed building too. It was so dark and cold when I arrived I wasn’t really taking the time to observe this. In conclusion, this pub is one of the best station pubs I have been to. I perhaps wouldn’t come here for a whole evening, but I would make sure I was early arriving for my train!

Less of a neighborhood pub and more like a bar, Three Guineas used to be the Reading rail station but is now simply attached to the rail building. I think it’s probably a big place to stop-off on the way home for the business people coming back from Londontown. But I certainly wouldn’t know anything about that at all. Really. I’m sure. Um, moving along… Full bar service with several beers on tap as well as a reasonable food service. I have seen a couple people eating here, but it just doesn’t have an eating«vibe.» The music is a bit loud and when there is a big game, they have a big screen television outside for the smokers.
