Garden of Gulab

The service and food is excellent! This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Reading… it’s a hard one to beat. The coconut is delicious. The staff are lovely, with quick speedy service.

If you’ve read any of my other reviews you will quickly identify me as a coffee addict. Over the years of talking to people about coffee, I have oft told the tale of the best espresso I ever had. This espresso was offered to me free of charge after my meal and it literally blew the top off my coffee drinking world. I have no idea how they made it or where they got the espresso but to this day it stands as one of the most magical experiences of my life.
This espresso was given to me at the Garden of Gulab.
Yes, I understand this is an Indian restaurant so I should be reviewing the deliciousness of the Indian cuisine. I do not mean to cast aside how amazing the food was – and it *was* amazing. However, I would not be doing my dining experience justice if I did not mention that the customer service so far exceeded my expectations that I rave about this dining experience years afterwords.
The service was phenomenal, the dining environment was perfect, the food was delicious and then… that coffee… oh that coffee.
Miah’s Garden of Gulab has a superior reputation and it is 100% deserved.

First dined here over 16 years ago and the standard has been maintained throughout the years. Friendly service, great food and a relaxing atmosphere for a quiet evening or in a group.
The selection of dishes on offer is impressive and the quality of the food often surpasses other more expensive Indian restaurants.
