Went on a midweek night which could explain the quiet atmosphere. I believe at the weekend it gets busy and booking would be recommended(if that’s possible). The interior is quirky with hints of the interiors shop it used to be: mirrors, pictures and placards cram the walls and the furniture is an eclectic mix. The food is ‘tapas’ style — in other words small portions which means you need to order around 3 – 4 dishes. The food was OK but nothing special. The venue suits a lazy afternoon, grazing on small plates of food and drinking wine, but then you would need a taxi. Never say never … but wouldn’t rush back as definitely something was lacking. Perhaps I should try it on a weekend. The final off putting factor was that the kitchen door was open to the street, on the same side as the bar entrance. Seeing kitchen staff leaning against the door frame as we left on what is quite a busy road did not gel.
