The Fairfax is definitely more of a young group’s pub than an Old Man pub. In fact its barely a pub, the interior suggests more of a bar. The prices too reflect this. They are the most expensive in this area– if you’re after cheaper drinks try the nearby Church Inn or Foresters. For this reason, its also a hit with the ladies. I can go with a group of girls and(unlike guys) we don’t need too much money to get slightly merry. Especially rowdy on the weekend and when they have their Pub Quiz, at most times there will be a few people inside having some food. The Sausage and Mash here is very good. Enough gravy to satisfy true Northerners. Plus they serve food until 9pm so if you’re feeling peckish in the evening you can still grab some chips or garlic bread with your drinks. Except for Walkabouts and Sports Bar in London I have never seen so many flat screen TVs showing sport so if this is your goal then the Fairfax is perfect. If you want to get away from the football, the squishy sofas to the left of the entrance(complete with homely faux fire place) will be your safe haven.

With Pinto’s being full, I decided to come to The Orange Tree which is on the same complex as Pinto’s. I did not stay for very long or try the food however due to the menus, they may have had quite a few menus but they were unable to provide me with a dietary sheet and most of their dishes contained Gluten, this certainly did not give me confidence in eating here as they went on to say«They can’t be sure that any dish will or will not contain gluten» I do feel they could of done something with the restaurant not being very busy at all. The staff did not stand out either, it was quite hard to get their attention from doing nothing and they did not seem as helpful as they could of been, due to everything that I have mentioned and having to go in yet another resturant from here I have to give 1 star.
