Value for money for a glorified canteen! Staff served main before we were finished starter. staff handed us a piping hot plate which burnt our fingers. Complained to staff at desk, but they weren’t interested! Didn’t ask if we were finished our starter. Side arrived 5 minutes after main was served. Left as soon as we were finished. Nothing more than a glorified canteen /cattle market. Will never be back and sorry I wasted my Money!!! So many staff wondering around they could easily take your order without having to cue to order! My partner has been physically sick since arriving home!!! Not the evening we were looking for unfortunately!

Ramore like a fast food joint This place is extremely popular and always busy. First thing you should know about all of the Ramore restaurants is that you will be queuing for ages. We waited 1hr and 45 mins for a table here. Excellent Service is definitely not something the Ramore is striving to provide. You are taken to your table and the rest is up to you. Once you have made your selection you head to the bar to order and provide your table number. One thing that stood out is that the staff will take your money before providing you with drinks. This is normally the other way about, service is provided and you pay. You are expected to get your own cutlery in preparation for your food arriving. This place is essentially a dressed up McDonald’s or Nandos. Food was reasonable and to a decent quality, but it’s a cattle market and unpleasant to dine in

Highly recommended! The roast duck is amazing, huge portions and quick service once you have ordered! It can take a while to get a table as its so popular but it’s worth the wait. My favourite part… the famous desserts! WOW!

My favourite NI restaurant ever. Part of the Ramore complex of restaurants, you’ll always find a queue here at the Wine Bar and rightly so. Order at the bar and grab your own cutlery before waiting for your meal to come out. I always order the peppered rump steak with tobacco onions and pepper cream sauce despite the fact that I keep telling myself I’ll be more adventurous next time I go. I just can’t stray from my favourite choice! The rump steak is full of flavour and there’s zero fat, whilst the pepper cream sauce is creamy(obviously) and the tobacco onions are the best I’ve had. I love the busy atmosphere and the stunning views of Portrush Harbour too.

Great food — okay wine list but what they do offer is decent. We had the mink fish green curry and grilled salmon and then for dessert we had the chocolate sea salt caramel tart — best dessert I think I have ever had!

my partner and i were here for a meal tonight thought it was really poor have been on numerous occasions in the past and had great meals, we had chilli chicken pitta with garlic dip and chilli chicken penna pasta with zunni fries both were on the table within 5 minutes which said it all about the quality off the food it was a Tuesday night so there is only the wine bar and bistro open just a pity as the last few times we have eaten in the mermaid it has been stunning just hope the ramore is not becoming complacent as it has portrush sewn up…

My girlfriend and I stopped here for a late lunch on our road trip of Northern Ireland. It was recommended to us by our B&B host and it did not disappoint. It has an interesting layout overlooking the harbour. The place is a cross between a gastropub and a family restaurant. A large, open space with plenty of seating space, a medium sized bar where you order from and the attention-grabbing cake counter/display that will tempt even those who always choose the savoury option! The crowd is mostly local families, lots of kids running around. But honestly, the food is so good and the staff are so friendly that everyone is just so happy. I had a beautiful grilled salmon on a bed of mixed fresh salads ranging from quinoa, couscous with grilled veggies, baked potatoes and sauteed mushrooms. Huge portion and so yum. The best part is you get to pick and mix from a huge range of salads from behind the cake counter. The cake display is really something. Beautifully arranged display with giant colourful merengues, mini pavlovas with blobs of cream and strawberries on top, strawberry cheesecake, tiramisu and more. Very inventive, creative and so many to choose from. The strawberry cheesecake was oozing heaven in every bite — a perfect balance of fruity and creamy. The mini pavlova was just the right amount of merengue with a thick dollop of vanilla cream on top. It cracked and crumbled just right with every forkful of cream. Yum!!! Don’t miss this place if you’re heading west from Ballycastle and the Giants Causeway.

So I’ve been back home for a month and I’m still craving their Chicken Biryani — spicy, flavorful, and tender. If you go to the Ramore, dessert is a must. Just put the thought of calories out of your mind and order the St. Honore Cake. It truly tastes as good as it looks, and it looks mind-bending. So many amazing confections piled on top of each other; you truly owe it to yourself to order a slice. The Ramore may be reason enough for me to travel ½ way around the world and visit Northern Ireland again!

This was really hopping — but the format is odd. Imagine a gastropub where you order at the bar, then find your own table, but it’s not a cafeteria atmosphere. There were a lot of groups there(including ours) — it’s not an intimate place for date nights. Bustling and busy.

On a long weekend get away from the rainy Scotland, we visited the Giant’s gauseway and then we were hungry. So we asked the people working on the site where to go for good foor(where they would go to enjoy their night and their dinner). They told us two place in Portrush next to each in the city’s harbour. Portrush was sunny, and packed — it reminded me Brighton in a way. Really lovely place to go I highly recommend. Parking was a bit difficult to find but after two-three attempts, we were on our way to the sunny harbour. Both places were packed, and had a waiting list from 45 minutes to 1.30hrs! We were hungry so we chose Ramore as it had the least waiting time. We did a walk, and we went back to enjoy a couple of drinks in the bar, really good ambient atmosphere, and really good music. The place was packed! The food is well cooked, and it offers a variety. I would categorise it more on the pub food, but really well presented and cooked. If you are in the are you must go!!!

Fantastic. Need I say more? Living in London, I ALWAYS make sure to get a trip in at the wine bar every time I am home. This is the place to go on the north coast for food. Fillet wellington with chilli fries, followed by a sticky toffee pudding. Heaven. Also worth a mention are the Parmesan fries which are also delicious. Expect a lengthy wait at peak times– no bookings– but take a raffle ticket and head to the harbour bar next door to await your table and revel in the expectation.

I had a lovely dinner in Ramore when I was visiting Portrush lately. My friend invited me there and I was surprised it can be that busy on regular Tuesday evening. She told me it’s the best place to eat out there and she wasn’t mistaken. I followed her advice with the menu and ordered pepper steak with tobacco onions and chilli/sour cream chips. The steak was brilliant, the exact medium I wanted, onions-well I want to learn how to prepare them at home. they weren’t too thick like usual onion rings and with so much batter. Chilli chips were also outstanding. We also got a bottle of wine which cost us only 9 pounds and if we wanted we could take it home. Living in Dublin, this price seems so funny and I wish it would be the same here… We finish our amazing night with dessert. I trusted her completely in ordering that one and she came back with an incredibly big portion of cake. I don’t exactly remember the name but it was something with chocolate biscuits, chocolate cream, white cream and coated in caramelised sugar… Really heaven in your mouth:) We were sharing this one and barely managed to finish. I am sooo looking forward to coming there especially when you consider that prices there are so low. It’s about 12 pound per main course, 9 for wine, 4.50 for dessert… You would never get the same price and remarkable quality in Dublin. Unfortunately:(

Good food at reasonable prices in a town that is lacking in good restaurants. As has been mentioned it is very busy and the restaurant is crammed with tables. The menu focuses more on the spicy side of things but there are other options. Loses a star because I hate the service in this place. You have to order at a bar which isn’t easy when it’s 3 deep with people waiting for drinks. Otherwise a must do when in the area.

Heaven is a place in Portrush — the Ramore really is one of my favourite places on the planet. The food is so good that it really is difficult to get across the mouth wateringness of this place in words! And the portions, the huge fabulous portions are just perfect for a glutton like me. Where to start when describing the menu? Think juicy grilled meats and fish, calorie loaded but oh so good sauces and the miracle that is tobacco onions — think spirals of onion coated in something delish and then deep fried to perfection. Oh, did I mention that you REALLY need to leave all awareness and thoughts of counting calories or fat grams at the door. I always order the chilli fillet steak in pitta bread with sour cream and chilli potato skins with a side order of salad. Even the salad is exceptional. No limp lettuce in the Ramore, this salad has things like marinated mushrooms, baby onions in balsamic vinegar and roasted red peppers going on. The desserts are the stuff of your dreams. One is called St Honore and has to be seen to be believed — a rocky road base, home made honeycome, a huge profiterole at a jaunty angle on the side and a whole cow’s worth of cream. The Ramore is always jammed which is a testament to how good it is and creates a very buzzy vibe but means that you sometimes have to wait for a table. Take consolation from the fact that you can stare at the desserts in the chiller while you wait! There are lots of fab quirky touches like tap water served in wine bottles which the kids will love. Ask for a table overlooking the harbour and you’ll have a great view while you load up and then roll out the door for a walk by the sea afterwards.

Food here is great, and good value for the quality. It really is annoying not being able to book a table. As others have said, go off season. You can feel at times like you are sitting with strangers, the tables are so close together. This place is becoming a victim of its own success with locals, but tourists will no doubt continue to pack in.

Not very impressed with here. I went with a friend one lunch time. Food was good, service was so so. We both felt very rushed, as if they were trying to get us to finish and leave so they could get ready for evening service. We decided against pudding, or should I say we weren’t given the option! Eat, bill and go. Sadly, I am afraid it was our first and last time here.

Worked as a supervisor here for over a year. Voted busiest restaurant in Northern Ireland and definitly fulfills that criteria. Menu is well laid out and there is a vegetarian and gluten free menu avalable. Between 5pm and 7pm on weekdays the tea time menu is available which knocks around £3 off each meal. Most popular dishes are their penne pasta, wagamama, harbour burgers and steaks. waiting time on friday and sat will be at least an hour and cannot reserve tables so be prepared to wait on your table. food is served quicky and always to a fantastic standard. meal is average of £12.

Havent been for a few months but food has always been great. VEry very busy with qs outside before opening time. Lovely range of desserts, but after dinner they can be a bit large but great for sharing. Best thing to do is if staying over in Portrush have dinner and then the next day return at opening time for dessert and coffee for lunch! Dont forget that you need to order and pay at the bar, food is brought to you. Nice views from window seats, although they arent very comfortable.

Busy place to be seen wine bar. No matter when you go it is busy. I think they have made it too big now. The food has been a bit hit or miss the last couple of times. Lunch time is my preference as it tends not to be just as busy. You can’t book so in high summer season you haven’t a chance of getting a table. We tend to stay well away during the summer months. All in all I think it is not as good as it used to be!
