I’m really grateful that we’ve had this branch of the DVLA here for a few years now. They do the take a ticket and queue system but it is rarely more than a handful of people in front of you — best to avoid lunch times though!
they have two types of staff, those who do not speak beyond the necessary and those who do. I guess they get a bit of hassle.
It means if you’re running late with renewing your tax, they can do it on the spot — and if you can’t lay your hand on a certificate, they can check electronicly. Super! So sick of turning up at the post office and find a certificate is missing.
This morning I did my road tax online, and was unable to provide a serial number. Got on the phone, and hey presto! it’s done. Didn’t have to leave the house.
Cracking job!
