Stayed at the Royal Inn for one night, highly recommended. High quality in general — clean, spacious room, with large restaurant. Food from the restaurant was top notch as well(I had a Tikka Masala curry, only gripe would be slightly small serve — my companion had the Steak, mushroom and ale pie). Didn’t spend much time in the bar unfortunately, but they had a local band playing that night so good to see some entertainment put on. Couldn’t hear the band from the room so wasn’t too rowdy. Brekky was made to order which meant it was good quality(other Inns on this trip have had buffet which means potentially old/stale food). Traditional English brekky had all you could ask for — egg, sausage, bacon, mushies and beans. Companion had smoked kippers which were nice.
