As far as parks in Paisley go, Barshaw is the daddy, the king pin, the big cheese etc. Barshaw has a newishy(last few years) refurbished kids area at the entrance which has the usual chute, swings and spinny-majiggers, what makes it a bit more awesome though is the flying fox, there’s always a queue for the damn thing though! Fear nor! If your sans child you can still come to the park, there are a few things to do if your of the adult persuasion. There is a café, flower gardens towards the back of the park and mini golf too! Throughout the year there are various events and fun days to keep even the biggest of kids entertained.

Many good memories of this park from when I was younger and even now! It has an amazing big hill which is great in the winter so you can sledge and also Easter when everyone rolls eggs down the hill! I remember when I was younger they had a wee train the went round the park I’m not sure if it’s still there does anyone know? There is a nice wee animal corner like a mini zoo and a special part for dogs were owners can just take there dogs for a strole and let them run about without lots of kids in the way! They used to have amazing crazy golf and a pond with swans in it! There was also a roll van which was great with lots of picnic space and a baby park and a bigger kids park! They also have like a skate park with sand ramps in it I think the only down side is the car park is tiny!

When I was at primary school my mum used to take me and some friends to Barshaw Park during the summer holidays. Now that I think about it, it’s a bit of a trek but it kept us amused for hours and out of her hair so I guess that’s a good enough reason. There’s a play park, skate park and some ramps for mountain bikes and such. We usually just played in the play park and spent hours on the massive slide here. I also have fond memories of the little animal corner where there was the coolest peacock ever. There’s also a beautiful walled garden where you can spend hours in the summer having a relaxing stroll looking at all the pretty flowers.
